Deeper Places
I want to live
in the deeper places
where flowers
always get to bloom
at their appointed time
and are loved as much
weathered and dormant
and covered with snow
I want to live
in the deeper places
where loss is felt
tears are cried and
night becomes a friend
and then loss
dies too
new life arrives again
Oh, I want to live
in the deeper places
I want to live
in the deeper places
where flowers
always get to bloom
at their appointed time
and are loved as much
weathered and dormant
and covered with snow
I want to live
in the deeper places
where loss is felt
tears are cried and
night becomes a friend
and then loss
dies too
new life arrives again
Oh, I want to live
in the deeper places

"Hey, that's a good idea." I thought to myself on first reading this, so I figured I'd letcha know.
ReplyDeleteMight have to give this one a go.
More important, of course, is this is a nice poem here.
Ellen,
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you here! \o/
Thank you again, Curtis, for your lovely presentation of "Deeper Places." And thanks to bandit and Jane for their kind comments; and to friends and family who have sent emails of appreciation.
ReplyDeleteAnd my husband, Karl, for the photo!
This poem was a gift.
Many blessings...Ellen
Great poem. Very moving!
ReplyDeleteThis poem at this time of year brought to mind John 12:24 - unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it cannot produce a new harvest.... Your poem was a beautiful reminder of the resurrection power that can bring new life and hope, even from the darkest days of winter.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen.
Beautiful poem...deeper places have so many treasures.
